In this episode, I want to share some behind the scenes of what it looked like in the beginning of starting the podcasting journey. My journey started 5 years ago but actually started with FB lives 7-8 years ago. It all started with a gut pull, and instinct to start and let it be messy. This is part 1 and the next episode will share what I have learned to date since starting this journey over 5 years ago, and recording over 550 episodes between 2 shows.
In this episode we
discuss:
1)
We are so conditioned for quick results, we start for the wrong
reasons, it looks easy or we get stuck in comparison, high
expectations of downloads or making money from it. Podcasting
is a long game process and you have to start for the right
reasons.
2) We might not be clear on our brand message,
who our ideal guests are, too hard on ourselves in general or
getting caught up on the numbers, the downloads and the amount of
success that we perceive we are having.
3) How can you be more
vulnerable and real with your audience? Do you teach or do
you share? Podcasting is about the audience and there has to
be some piece of what is in it for them to subscribe, listen, share
and review your podcast.
